Flat Stanley Visits Chicago and Helps Walk Dogs

So, this post has nothing to do with dog training, but it does have pictures of many of my dog walking clients so I thought I'd share it in the blog.

i recently received a letter in the mail from my 8-year-old nephew, Dylan, who lives in Pennsylvania.  Enclosed in the envelope with the letter was a paper doll named Flat Stanley who came to visit me and learn more about Chicago.

I figured that while I had an extra "hand" from Flat Stanley, I should put him to work.  Here is a picture show of some of what we did and how he helped me take care of some of Get Pet's clients :-)

Dear Uncle Kyle,

I hope you are doing well.  We are learning about farming, weather, and multiplication.  We each made our Flat Stanley to send around the country and world.  I hope he has fun visiting you!

As part of our Social Studies units this year, our class read a book called Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown.  This book is about a young  boy named Stanley who is accidentally squished "as flat as a pancake" when a bulletin board falls on him.  The story tells of Stanley's adventures being flat.  He can slide under doors, go down into sidewalk grates, and even folded up smal enough to fit into an envelope and be mailed to exciting and interesting places.

I made my very own Flat Stanley.  After a short visit, I would appreciate it if you would send him back to me, along with the letter enclosed telling us about where you live and the exciting things that Flat Stanley saw or did on his visit.  Feel free to send him back with any souvenirs from your state (such as pictures, postcards, maps, newspapers, etc) and, of course, some pictures.

Don't forget to fold Flat Stanley back up and send him with all his neat stuff and send him to the address included.  Thank you for letting my Flat Stanley come to visit you!

Sincerely,

Dylan

    About Kyle

Growing up in the country in Pennsylvania gave me tons of experience with animals from a very early age.  I later pursued a career in horseback riding and also have experience as a veterinary technician.  I have a strong passion for animals and have an uncanny ability to connect with all sorts of furry friends.

I started this blog while owning Get Pet, a dog walking and training business in Chicago, and I decided to continue using it as my way of sharing all the valuable insight I gained, and I also aim for it to provide you with fun anecdotes and helpful resources about dog-friendly housing, places and events.
